About
The Complaints are a modern rock band led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Dean Petrella, with bassist Chris Cruz, and drummer Anthony Marotti. The band is based out of Providence RI and they primarily tour the east coast. Their fans have coined the famous description of the band's sound as "a singer songwriter, retro-throw back, yet modern rock sound with a sexy-funky feel". You might want to read that again!
2014 is lining up to be another great year for the band. After much commercial success of their 3rd full length album (Sunday Morning Radio), and the 2012 single Trade Up, the boys have stepped it up another notch once again! They spent some time in LA with the legendary Chris Lord-Alge, where they mixed their latest single South Side Suicide. The song was released in early 2013. The band is also currently writing material for various soundtracks and continue to perform close to 200 shows a year.
The Complaints have recently shared the stage with Sugar Ray, Young the Giant, Collective Soul, 3 Doors Down, Train, Nickleback, Guster, Candlebox, The Tubes, 10,000 Maniacs, Dave Davies of The Kinks and many other national acts.
The Complaints have won awards numerous awards for their songwriting and performances, including Album of the year in the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll for their debut CD Fear. Songs from all (3) of their albums have been featured on the MTV and have been in heavy rotation on college and AAA radio stations across the country. They have recently also won best male vocalist and band of the year awards in New England's Motif Magazine (2011).
This band exhibit's the truest sense of the word Indie artist. They continue to be one of the most successful independent artists on the national scene.
