About
In 2011, the band formed after a battle of the bands at POBJFK. The band was called "Jail For Kids", and consisted of Shanon Munoz on bass, Sean Martin on guitar and vocals, and Billie Golan on drums. After the battle of the bands being a flop, the guitarist left and Kyler Sane filled the void as guitarist. Before the first disband, we changed the name of the band to "The Muckrakers", and made our first single, "Killing Spree". Shortly after, Shanon had to leave for college, and the band broke up.
The following year, Shanon came back, and we got a new drummer, from the former grunge band "Nightmare's Fantasy", Jason Cohen. We had created one new song, not to be finished til a year later, unofficially changed the name to "Unofficial Punk Project" and performed a mini concert called "Munoz Stock". After that show though, we disbanded again til a year later. Jason played one show and ended up having to leave off to college.
For the most part of 6 months we played a ton of shows with a good friend and fan of our sister band, Reluctant Mortem, Nick White, on drums. Unfortunately he had to leave for personal reasons. This was rough because we still had some shows lined up. Luckily we had Shanon's composition teacher, Dana Mancuso, come in and stay for roughly 6 months. She stabalized us and ultimately played a show over the following summer where we ended up meeting a pretty important band: The Schwam .
The Schwam ended up being an huge help, for once Dana had to ultimately had to leave the band, we started recording our album through them. Their front man, Brandon Bachrach was our audio engineer, while their drummer, Mike Marcuggio, played all of the drums(initially). Mike is a beast on drums and really kicked the intensity up a couple levels. This though also led to us being drummerless for most of the year until roughly around spring. Mike ended up helping however much he could, playing 3 shows, but it wasn't going to work out due to him living NJ and being extremely busy.
One night after recording, Shanon and Kyler ended up going to a show in a local plainview bar where it seemed to be like a High School reunion, and even Sean, the original guitarist was there. We found ourselves meeting an old friend's new boyfriend who she mentioned to be a drummer. That guy ended up becoming our current drummer, Jon Hoffmann. He basically killed our expectations at the audition, and we have been creating new more creative songs and playing out of state as well as regaining our footing in the scenes.
That following summer was actually held our 4th annual Munoz Stock which was actually a wild hit. Years ago it was a modest gathering, but this point it gathered a big enough crowd that we'd like to call it a festival. We are going to be moving the location from Shanon's house to somewhere else in the future at this point though. The details are TBA.
At this time we've release our debut album "Dirty Water", music videos for the songs "Self Loathing" and "Doomed" and have plans to put out new recordings and videos off our upcoming EP, for the tracks Halloween Princess / Parasite and Black ,along with getting on the road to tour.
